Show Notes

In this episode of the Faith Conversations Podcast, host Jessica Cabrera interviews Heather Myers, Navy veteran, military wife, biological and adoptive mom, and author of the soon-to-be-published Bible study “Rooted Motherhood”. Heather shares her journey through military service, terrible sickness during pregnancy, and international adoption—and how those seasons of weakness brought her to depend completely on God's Word and a true relationship with Christ. Heather’s story showcases what it means to live from a place of surrender—recognizing her weaknesses and clinging to God’s truth as her strength. With honesty and encouragement, she explains how Scripture became her anchor over time. Now, she’s passionate about helping other women—mothers and beyond—find peace and strength in Christ by being deeply rooted in Scripture.

Check out what the Bible has to say:

  Isaiah 40:29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.

  2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

  Psalm 1:3  That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.

  John 15:4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

Do you want a relationship with God too?

If you have never made the choice to accept Jesus' offer – a gift, not by works – to be restored to the original design for your life, which is a relationship with God (on earth and in heaven after physical death), now is the time. There is an article in Jessica's Engage Faith Column that will help you understand who He is, who you are, what choice you have, and what happens when you make the decision. Visit https://www.jessicacabrera.org/column/what-is-the-message-of-the-gospel to read the message of God's good news for mankind and to find a sample prayer that you can pray today.

The importance of a Biblical faith community:

All listeners are encouraged to engage in a local church community to learn more about Jesus, the Bible, and to experience God through community. Listeners from the Northern Virginia area are welcomed at Burke Community Church and anyone seeking an online church service can find one here. We are not designed to be alone; we’re designed for a community of faith.
